Apply to be the 2026–2027 Gerre Hancock Intern

11/15/25, 5:00 PM

We are pleased to announce Church of the Incarnation, Dallas, TX, as the host of the 2026–2027 Gerre Hancock Internship. The Gerre Hancock Internship program was established to create full-time mentoring opportunities for extraordinary young church musicians who demonstrate a strong interest in the music and worship of the Episcopal Church. This annual internship is jointly funded by AAM and the host institution and offers the intern ten months of practical experience through intense and intentionally formative work as part of an outstanding music program.

At Incarnation, the Hancock Intern will work closely with Christopher Jacobson, FRCO, Director of Music and Organist, Owen Reid, Associate Director of Music and Organist, and Rachel Jones, Music Administrator gaining experience in service playing, choral conducting, and music administration. The intern will participate fully in the parish’s vibrant musical life, assisting with the Incarnation Choir, the Chorister program, and the Concert Series.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Gerre Hancock Intern to Incarnation,” said Christopher Jacobson. “This partnership with AAM beautifully aligns with our mission to ‘raise up leaders for the renewal of the Church.’ It allows us to invest in the next generation of church musicians while sharing the rich liturgical and musical life that defines this parish.”

Applications are now open (through February 1st) to be the 2026–2027 Gerre Hancock Intern. The application and full job description can be found at www.anglicanmusicians.org/internship.
