When In Our Music God is Glorified
The Annual Conference of the Association of Anglican Musicians
St. Louis, Missouri • June 11–15, 2028
After more than 50 years, we invite AAM to return to St. Louis in 2028. It was here at Christ Church Cathedral in 1972 that AAM took its current name, and we look forward to sharing our great city with you once again!
The committee has chosen the theme, "When in our music God is glorified." We are very excited to share that our Conference preacher will be The Right Reverend and Right Honorable Rowan Williams, who served as Archbishop of Canterbury from 2002 to 2012. Williams will preach at the Opening Eucharist offered at The Church of St. Michael & St. George (CSMSG). He will also offer a homily at Choral Evensong and speak at a keynote address/roundtable discussion. Additionally, he will be present throughout the Conference to visit with members informally. CSMSG has graciously underwritten the appearance of Archbishop Williams.
Other liturgies and events will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Attendees will experience a wide variety of pipe organs by Aeolian-Skinner, Juget-Sinclair, Mander, Schoenstein, and others.
Our Conferees will stay at the Royal Sonesta Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, an historical hotel (built in 1922) that puts you in the heart of St. Louis' bustling Central West End district with an abundance of art, boutiques, and entertainment nearby. The historic St. Louis hotel is less than two miles from the award winning Forest Park, and minutes from the Saint Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Art Museum, Energizer Park, and the Missouri Botanical Garden. Enjoy luxurious amenities including three on-site restaurants, a charming historic movie theater, a fitness center, and a Mediterranean-style seasonal outdoor pool.
St. Louis is a place of rich and complex history. The Old Courthouse, part of Gateway Arch National Park, was the location of the Dred Scott cases. The Missouri Historical Society is home to interactive exhibits commemorating the 1904 World's Fair. The St. Louis Art Museum is home to one of the world's finest collections of German Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism. Admission to the Courthouse, Art Museum, and Historical Society is all free due to substantial public and private funding.
